Established in 2002 by Legislative Decree No: 36, the Tender Board is an independent, regulator of government procurement practices in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Tender Board works to promote effective and efficient government procurement practices and systems through a strict regulatory mechanism designed to ensure the utmost fairness and equal opportunity. The Board collaborates with the public sector Purchasing Authorities, and local, regional and international contractors and suppliers, in order to ensure equality, transparency and competitiveness in all government tendering and purchasing practices. The Tender Board has built bridges of cooperation between the public sector Purchasing Authorities, and local, regional and international contractors and suppliers, in order to ensure excellence, fairness and competitiveness in all government tendering and purchasing practices. These strong partnerships have created the foundation for a world-class regulatory environment that facilitates private sector growth, and boosts global investor confidence in the Kingdom of Bahrain as a preferred place to do business.
The Tender Board remain committed to supporting the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision by accelerating building infrastructure projects, and supporting the economic development and continued prosperity of our country. Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman was established under the Act (1) for the year 1968, issued by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman. The department began to practice its functions and responsibilities entrusted to it in the field of development and services. The department has witnessed successive developments in its administrative structure to keep pace with economic and social developments of the emirate. And working on achieving the Department Strategy and the Emirate Vision 2021 "Sustainable environment while developing a modern infrastructure in Ajman." In December 2009, Tatweer Petroleum – Bahrain Field Development Company W.L.L. assumed responsibility for the stewardship and revitalization of the mature Bahrain Field and the execution of all activities related to the petroleum operations pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Development and Production Sharing Agreement (DPSA). The DPSA, dated 26th April 2009, was entered into between the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and Occidental, Mubadala, and The Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding).
As of July 2016, the Company is wholly owned by nogaholding, the business and investment arm of NOGA of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which acts as the steward for the Government’s investment in a diversified range of energy-related companies. Tatweer Petroleum is now responsible for all upstream operations in the Kingdom, including oil and gas exploration, development, and production activities, in addition to gas distribution and sales.
The Company’s primary goal is to increase the production of oil and the availability of gas to meet the future energy demands of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the nation’s Economic Vision 2030.
Tatweer Petroleum utilizes the latest oil exploration, production, and recovery technologies whilst upholding its commitment to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental protection, and the development of Bahraini nationals.
